Hey it's Tarrmu and welcome to Thinking Out Loud and in today's video we'll be talking about the Game of the Year nominations and what games I want to see win, and which games I believe will win the nomination. So let's get into this

Best RPG

Kicking things off we have best RPG and this here is one of the harder ones for me, seeing FF7 Rebirth, Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, and Metaphor Refantazio all being heavy hitters and strong contenders to me for game of the year. What do I think will win this award, is a toss up between Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Metaphor Refantazio.

Best Action / Adventure

For best Action Adventure I think we have another solid list of games here, and I feel like this is another solid list and I would want this one to go to Astro Bot or Prince of Persia. I think that this award will end up going to Astro bot.

Best Action Game

The nominations for best Action game has a list of strong contenders, and I want Black Myth Wukong to take the award home here for this one. I feel every contender on this list is extremely worthy of the award, but Wukong has the most spectacle and overall the most satisfying and expansive combat to match for me. What I feel like will win this award is also in my opinion will also be Black Myth Wukong.

Best Indie Game

The category of best Indie, I think all the games on this list are great games, and what I'd want to see take home the award is a tough pick, I feel like it's a toss up for me between Animal Well or Balatro. What I think will win this category is Balatro.

Best Community Support

The best community support award I would want to go to either Baldur's Gate 3 because they've even after pushing out tons of content winning last years GOTY, continued to patch and add new content to this game, along with mod support that allows players to fully tailor their own experience. Who do I think will win this award, I do think that BG3 has a strong chance, with the runner up being No Man's Sky.

Best Ongoing Game

For best ongoing game I feel I'd want to have win this award it would come down to Helldivers 2 or Final Fantasy 14. As amazing as I feel The Final Shape's campaign was for Destiny 2, I feel the change to episodes were rough for fans. What do I feel will win this award, I feel like there is a good chance that Helldivers 2 takes this one home.

Best Audio Design

I think for this award whilst many of the games on this list exemplify good audio design, I'd love to see the award go to Astro Bot as I feel the way that it handles audio design with respect to the experience and the dual sense utilizes sound and correlates to the experience. What I think will win this award is also Astro Bot.

Best Score and Music

The award for best score and music has a variety of good picks here, I feel like I would like to see Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, as this reimagined score of the original FF7 and the dynamic soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal, if Metaphor takes this home I'd totally understand as well. What do I think will win, well I think it will be a toss up between FF7 Rebirth and Metaphor, but I do think Astro Bot could also sneak in and take the cake.

Best Art Direction

For the best Art Direction, I would love to see this one go to Metaphor ReFantazio because the art direction in every facet of this experience is incredible from the various locations, enemy designs, and the UI's man, the UIs! What I think will win the Game Award, is Metaphor ReFantazio, with Neva being a close second if it's art direction is anything like Gris.

Best Narrative

For the best narrative category I think we have a lot of interesting contenders and I would want to see Infinite Wealth take home an award because I love that game, and overall enjoyed its a lot. Which game do I think will win, I think it'll come down to being Metaphor ReFanatazio or Silent Hill 2 Remake. As much as I loved FF7 Rebirth's story, I do feel like it is also the most contentious thing about the experience for lots of people

Best Game Direction

For best Game Direction, I think we have a great list here, and I feel out of the contenders I would love to see Metaphor, Astro Bot or FF7 Rebirth take this one as I do feel each of these games had such an amazing vision, which game do I feel will win this however, I believe it will be between Erdtree and Astro Bot.

Game of the Year

I want Metaphor ReFantazio or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to win, but feel Shadow of the Erdtree will win, overall I do like the picks for game of the year, but do have mixed feelings about Erdtree making GOTY.

These are my picks and opinions for what I want to win each of these respective awards and what games I believe will take home the game of the year. Overall I do feel like majority of the choices and picks are quite suited, and I am discussing the Elden Ring DLC discussion more at length in another video.
