Games in 2024 that I'm looking forward to
Table of Contents
Hey it's Tarrmu and welcome to Thinking out Loud, and todays video is a bit of a different one and one that'll I'll probably need to update come June, but it is the games that have been announced for 2024 so far that I'm looking forward to first off I'm going to kick it off with Hellblade 2, I'm looking forward to sitting back and playing these games back-to-back around the release window of the long awaited sequel. The more that I see for Hellblade 2 I can't help but feel interested in this series and checking it out, and more than likely talking about it on this channel.
The next one is a wait and see for me, but at the same time I feel like I want to see it to its long awaited conclusion and that is Destiny 2 The Final Shape. So I guess the latest reveals for The Final Shape have peaked the interest of many, myself included seeing a new race of enemies after 10 years....yeah kinda sad. But the statement "back against the wall Bungie, is the best Bungie" so we'll see how this new subclass, these new enemies, and this conclusion to the story plays out. But I guess, if they do end up cooking with this one, and I do believe they can, I do think it'll be a good final hoorah for those who've stuck with the series for the past 10 years.
Next up is one that is probably everyone's most anticipated game at the moment and that is Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and man this is supposed to be the largest expansion that From Software has ever released, and to me that's insane. I mean, the base game for Elden Ring is so vast, and full of discoveries, not to mention the multitude of different endings that the game contained. I'd be interested to see how this further fleshes out the world of The Lands Between, and the different ways we'll traverse the lands, and the different bosses we'll face. I'm a simple man, if I see a From Soft souls content I play.
This next one is personally my most anticipated game based on what has been announced for 2024, and that is Metaphor ReFantazio which is the latest from the minds behind the Persona series, which carries over some of the similar mechanics from Persona, but is more focused around this fantasy universe, and from what we've seen doesn't look to use the Persona compendium of monsters and looks to have a much more open world approach where the player will be traversing the various lands and kingdoms of this world to win over the favor of the people. The combat looks to be blending some more action combat with turn-based, and the menus are absolutely stunning. I feel like if there is one game for me that feels like it can be a game of the year contender for me it'll probably be this.
Next up is Black Myth Wukong which is one that I remember seeing the trailer for a years ago, and the continuous updates have done nothing but excite me further for what we'll eventually see later this year! I really am loving the artstyle and the overall influence of Chinese Mythology. Some of the enemies in these trailers and the broader universe itself is so incredible, and honestly it looks like it has the potential to really surprise us. I'm keen for an entertaining adventure and if one game has to potential to come out of nowhere and steal the show for awhile I reckon it'll be Black Myth Wukong.
Next up is the highly anticipated Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment, now I've been waiting to hear more about this game for awhile, and when we got a look at it at last years Summer Games Fest, I was ready to see how it plays and get more insight into the world and what this game will be. I always kinda assumed that it'd be The Outer Worlds with a fantasy spin, and in many ways it is looking to be that way, where I get the feeling from the information provided at the Xbox direct, and tbh I'm all for it. If there is one thing that I hope Avowed can deliver on it is the departments where Obsidian excels and that is in writing, and providing flexible choices and outcomes that feel meaningful. There is no date locked in for this one by my guess would be late this year we'll be getting Avowed.
Last game I'd like to mention is Stalker 2, I'm a fan of dystopian stories and as a fan of the Metro series, and having recently been reading the book that inspired Stalker, I'm wanting to dive into the series and experience all the fun that everyone has been having for a good while now. Stalker 2 is looking like a promising and fun title, and after being delayed multiple times due to multiple events and happenings in the world, it'll be great to see the studio GSC Game World release their highly anticipated sequel in the Stalker series.
Those are all the games that I'm looking forward to, are there any that I've missed, any that I should be checking out? Let me know in the comments below, this has been Thinking Out Loud, thanks for watching.
