Xbox Showcase Reveals
Overview
On June 7th Xbox held a showcase that would be focused around unveiling new games coming to the platform, and a long form direct that would provide a hands-on look at Gears of War: E-Day. This showcase was important for many different reasons, but the most notable being that this was Xbox's first big showcase since the new leadership under Asha Sharma has taken the reigns of Xbox. So this would be an interesting show that could tell us what the future of Xbox would be going forward, which is significant because of constant shifts and changes to both Xbox's leadership, and strategy.
Gears of War: E-Day
Release Date: October 6th 2026
Xbox would kick off their showcase showing their headliner for 2026 in Gears of War: E-Day, the prequel to the first three Gears of War games and the return of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago. They'd open the show with a seven minute gameplay reveal that showcased how this game would play, and overall it looks like a solid experience that is very much inline with what you would expect from the Gears series. This reveal and gameplay showcased that E-Day has the tone and mood that you'd want from a Gears game, and made me more excited to check this one out when it release October 6th 2026.

Fable
Release Date: 23rd February 2027
Fable would receive a new trailer showcasing its villain along with a new release date which would place it in the early bracket of 2027, along with I'm suspecting many other video games. The more I see about Fable the more I am excited to check this out when it releases, and with this also coming to PlayStation it will be interesting to see Fable's return and how it performs.

Halo: Campaign Evolved
Release Date: July 28th 2026
We would get another trailer for Halo: Campaign Evolved which would show of all of the latest missions that are coming to the game. They on first glance look interesting, but the dialogue and the implementation of these new missions does raise a lot of questions as to how fitting these new missions will feel and fit within the context of that original 10 campaign missions.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
28th August 2026
A Plague Tale Legacy is the latest in the Plague Tale series, and this one is looking to take a different direction in its presentation and atmosphere, and it'll be interesting to see how fans of this series take to this new entry when it releases August 28th.

Persona 4: Revival
Release Date: 17th February 2027
Persona 4 Revival got another trailer that actually showed off gameplay, cutscenes, and overall all the new revisions that have been made to combat. This one is looking excellent and like P-Studio is continuing to up there game from their previous remake Persona 3: Reload. Unlike Reload, Revival will include all of the content from its re-release Persona 4: Golden, making the release feature complete at launch, which was an issue that many had with the release of Persona 3: Reload.

State of Decay 3
Release Date: 2027
The next reveal was the long awaited State of Decay 3, where we got a look at some gameplay and confirmation that the game will be releasing in 2027.

Metro 2039
Release Date: February 2027
The next reveal was another look at the upcoming Metro 2039 the long anticipated sequel to Metro Exodus, and after receiving a cinematic trailer a few weeks back, we were now greeted with gameplay for this latest entry and a rough release window, with Metro 2039 releasing in February 2027.

Bad Magpie
Release Date: 2027
Next we got a look at Bad Magpie, an interesting experience that has you take on a magpie where you are exploring multiple different open environments with a nice watercolor art-style. This one feels like Untitled Goose Game meets A Short Hike to me, and I'm excited to see it when it releases sometime in 2027.

Wo long 2: Wings of Ember
Release Date: 2027
The next game we got a look at is Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, the sequel to 2023's Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty which was basically Nioh in the world of The Three Kingdoms and another permutation of Team Ninja's spin on the Souls-like genre. The sequel is looking to be more crazy and build on what was established in the first game.

Join Us
Release Date: Early 2027
Ever wanted to start your own cult? Well Join Us is a new co-op cult simulator where you can recruit members, partake in cult like antics with your mates, in a simulated satirical experience. This is expected to be released in early 2027.

Senua
Release Date: 2027
Next game we'd see is another look at the next game in the Hellblade series that has dropped the name, and is instead named Senua. This game looks to be following a lot of the hallmarks of a Hellblade game, and learning from many of the pitfalls of the second entry, that many were disappointed with. Senua will be releasing in 2027.

Doom: The Dark Ages (DLC)
Release: 7th July 2026
The next thing that we got a look at was the DLC for 2025's Doom: The Dark Ages and this looks to be tripling down on all the ideas of the main games except this time you have spear to compliment the Doom Slayer's arsenal of tools to absolutely pummel enemies. This one is releasing July 7th so not too long of a wait, and it is looking promising for those who were a fan of the main game.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour
Release Date: 2027
Next up, we got another trailer for Crazy Taxi with a release window too. This return of the fan favorite series that SEGA is reviving is coming sometime in 2027.

Minecraft Dungeons II
Release Date: 29th September 2026
Next was an announcement for Minecraft Dungeons 2, the sequel to 2020's Minecraft Dungeons, an ARPG that was like kid friendly Diablo. The reviews for the first game varied depending on who you spoke to, but this second one looks to be coming back and delievering another go at this spin-off series.

Magician: The Devil's Deal
Release Date: 2027
The next game that was announce was a new game called Magician: The Devil's Deal which is being developed by Uppercut Games and published by Focus Entertainment. This one is looking to be interesting, a First-Person experience where your wand is your weapon. Still not a lot that we know gameplay wise about this one, but it is releasing sometime in 2027.

Valor Mortis
Release Date: 13th October 2026
Next up we got another look at the Valor Mortis the Napoleon era First-Person Soul-like which is a game that has me really interested. This game looks to be taking swings in a genre that is starting to feel fatigued, and I'm excited to see how it delivers when it releases on the 24th of September this year.
(originally planned for 24th September 2026)

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse
Release Date: 15th October 2026
A new 2D Castlevania game has been announced for 2026 Castlevania: Belmont's Curse which is being developed by Evil Empire the team who put out The Rogue Prince of Persia, and worked in collaboration with Motion Twin on the Return to Castlevania DLC for Dead Cells. This new Castlevania game seems like it is in good hands, and is continued model that Konami has been following with the licensing of their famous IP.

Vivarium
Release Date: 2027
One of the biggest highlights to me from this Xbox Showcase was Vivarium, a 80's anime Ghibli-eques inspired video game that has a mixture of life-sim elements and character storytelling. I found out after this showcase that the art for this game is hand-drawn and it looks absolutely outstanding.

Persona 6
Release: TBA
The long awaited and long anticipated reveal of Persona 6 finally arrived, and it was...ambiguous. The game looks to have a much darker tone that resembles that of the earlier games in the series, with many speculating about what this games focus will be. With the trailer revealing a cemetery, people suspect it will revolve around ghosts, occults and rumors. Time will tell, but creditable leakers suggest that this game will be releasing in 2027. But no official release date has been confirmed.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond
Release Date: Spring 2027
This next reveal was one that was not on my bingo card, and that was the return of Spyro the Dragon, with a new release coming in Spring of 2027 labeled Spyro: A Real Beyond which is being developed by Toys for Bob who in recent years put out the well received Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, so there is a lot of potential for Spyro to return in full form here, but time will tell.

Clockwork Revolution
Release Date: 2027
Now at the tail-end of the showcase we would get another look at Clockwork Revolution the time-bending RPG shooter from inExile the studio behind the Wasteland series. I am highly anticipating Clockwork Revolution, but I feel like this trailer didn't really do anything for me. I'm still excited to see more about this, and the game now has a release window, with the game releasing sometime in 2027, and will be an Xbox exclusive, which was explicitly announced and speaks to the direction of new leadership at Xbox. It'll be interesting to see if Clockwork Revolution is the beginning of a new direction, or if it is more an outlier.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
Release Date: 23rd October 2026
To end the show we got a look at the annualized year tradition that is Call of Duty, and this year's release is the latest in the Modern Warfare series. It'll be interesting to see the direction that they take with this one after the disappointing Modern Warfare 3 and last years Black Ops 7, which was a low point for the series.
This trailer would conclude with a look at the new DMZ mode which is a PvPvE mode that's looking to tap into similar formulas of the Extraction Shooter genre, and is promising to have narrative content tie to it. But whether or not this is an interesting and unique offering, or just Call of Duty trying to capitalize on one of the latest trends, a trend which has been mixed in success rate, will be interesting to see.
